Workshops

Digital Storytelling Workshop

The Digital Storytelling Workshop started its activities with the first facilitator training workshop held within our faculty in November 2009. In our workshop, an academic team from our faculty who have received facilitator training develop various projects according to their fields of work. They also collaborate with different units of our university and non-governmental organizations.

In the digital storytelling workshop, participants are guided through various stages led by facilitators to create their 2.5-3 minute personal autobiographical narratives using multimedia applications. Digital storytelling, an important form for circulating and archiving personal narratives, is used as a core component in various projects around the world in different regions and countries. Digital storytelling is used for purposes such as social participation, community building, and raising social awareness. It is also a key method in projects supporting the therapy of traumatic events.

Digital storytelling workshops not only enable participants’ personal narratives to circulate but also provide an informal learning environment to improve their digital literacy levels and promote digital literacy across different segments of society.
