In the fields of political communication, sociology of communication and communication law, the department conducts research on democracy, political - social power relations and communication, public - public opinion - public sphere and media, the distinction between private and public sphere, civil society and media, political representation and identity, gender, rhetoric, intellectual property rights, etc. With a broad scope encompassing feminist theory, queer theories, cultural sociology, the sociology of everyday life, critical theory, the political economy of communication, literary theories, and the philosophy of communication, it contributes to the interdisciplinary field of social sciences through new debates and research.
By combining a critical perspective with inquiries into art and visual media, it studies different practical areas of communication that exist in every aspect and moment of everyday life.
