Radio, Television and Cinema Master's Program

The Master's Program in Radio, Television, and Cinema (with thesis) has been structured to include both theoretical and practice-based courses, distinguishing itself from traditional approaches in the field by addressing the evolving dynamics shaped by new communication technologies. Based on the principle of convergence within the media ecosystem, the program encompasses a wide range of research and practice areas related to and intersecting with the field of radio, television, and cinema—including, but not limited to, new media technologies, social media platforms, cultural policies, creative industries, cultural economy, film theories, documentary cinema, screen and celebrity cultures, photography, and videography practices. As a significant sector and a deeply rooted academic field, radio, television, and cinema clearly demonstrate a growing need for both qualified professionals and competent researchers. The Radio, Television and Cinema Master's Program with Thesis, which has structured itself to meet this need, aims to produce graduates who have the knowledge and qualifications of the sector and academia, have a critical perspective, and will have a say in the field of cultural politics and cultural economy. In the program, which has a distinguished academic staff, students graduate by taking compulsory and elective courses and by successfully completing their master's thesis. Students may also take two elective courses from any of the three master’s programs currently offered within the Department of Communication Sciences.
